At Biomerics, we specialize in and focus on six distinct segments of the medical device and healthcare industries. Our offerings and solutions in the cardiovascular, structural heart, cardiac rhythm management/electrophysiology, neurovascular, vascular access, and pain management markets are unrivaled.
For this blog post, we’ve chosen to highlight our capabilities and expertise within the structural heart market.
The human heart is optimally designed to keep us alive via the regulation of blood and oxygen. Unfortunately, age, genetics, and other factors can cause the heart to develop imperfections, holes, stenosi, and diseases that can make normal living almost impossible. Fortunately, discoveries within the structural heart market are giving surgeons and doctors more efficient, less risky options for heart repair and surgery. At Biomerics, we have years of experience and expertise in devices used for structural heart repair including valve delivery, closure devices, and access systems.
At Biomerics, we specialize in the following areas of the structural heart market:
Valve Delivery
Heart valve replacement is performed when one or more of the heart’s four valves fails or becomes inefficient. When this happens, blood within the heart may begin to flow in the wrong direction or may become restricted/stopped.
At Biomerics, we specialize in the development and manufacturing of heart valve delivery systems used in minimally invasive procedures. We partner with customers to design and produce devices and systems that lower risk and improve patient outcomes.
Closure Devices
Closure devices are used to treat congenital heart defects, trauma, or other heart disease. We help leading medical companies design, develop, and produce delivery and access systems for their life-saving closure devices. These devices are commonly used in PFO, LAA, PDA, VSD, and ASD applications.
Heart Access Systems
We partner with customers to develop and manufacture transapical access devices (used as part of aortic stenosis procedures), transseptal puncture sets and access devices (used to access the left atrium for therapeutic procedures), and femoral access devices (used to access the heart through the femoral artery).
Introducers
An introducer is a piece of tubing used to insert and guide catheters and other devices during surgical procedures. Through our advanced catheter division and our material science expertise, we help our customers design, develop, and produce high quality, biocompatible introducers in various configurations for standard and unique procedures.
Balloon Catheters
Balloon catheters are used to map, detect, monitor, and treat various medical conditions. At Biomerics, we specialize in the design, development, production, and distribution of both balloons and balloon catheters.
Sheaths
A sheath creates a pathway through which surgical instruments and other devices can be smoothly and efficiently delivered. Our braiding, coiling, material science, and engineering capabilities allow us to develop and manufacture guidable, steerable, and fixed sheaths that offer superior control, kink resistance, and body access technologies.
