FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (February 24, 2020) Biomerics, LLC, a mid-market medical device manufacturer specializing in the design, development, and production of medical devices in interventional and radiology markets, recently announced the addition of a brand new 66-ton Molding Machine to its current fleet. Across the family of companies, Biomerics now has a total of 46 machines used for injection molding purposes in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments. (Utah-30, Texas–12, Minnesota–3, and Indiana–1)
With the introduction of this new equipment, Biomerics continues to expand its cleanroom-molding capabilities with another small-tonnage Arburg injection- molding machine. This electric molding machine adds enhanced capacity for molding smaller and tighter tolerance components for use in medical, surgical, and biotech devices. This new machine supports their efforts to minimize the environmental footprint and power consumption overall.
The Arburg 66-ton equipment comes with the most up-to-date software and hardware used to control and monitor the molding process using in-mold piezo-electric sensors. When molds are instrumented, the machine can sort parts based on specific data points acquired from these sensors. Additionally, the machine’s central system controls for fail-safes and repeatable applications of validated processes.
Ryan Heidenfeld, a Senior Molding Development Engineer for Biomerics, indicated, “The industry is moving towards having a platform where all equipment can communicate using the same language. From mold instrumentation to automation that interfaces with the molds, we plan to employ this technology to improve quality, reduce scrap, and maximize uptime”.
The addition of these new capabilities comes as part of an initiative Biomerics has in place to improve overall operations and advancing the competences within the Biomerics family of companies. Biomerics is committed to evolving with current technology trends and providing the highest quality of services to our customers and the products they manufacture daily.
